Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 30, 2026. Last updated: August 30, 2026.
This policy explains what personal information austin-tx.us collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It's written primarily under U.S. and Texas law — specifically the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) — since this site, its subject matter, and the great majority of its visitors are Texas-based. It covers two separate things that are easy to conflate, so we're keeping them separate on purpose: (1) information about you if you use this site or submit a form, and (2) public property information displayed on this site, which is not personal information about a resident at all — see About for why we draw that line as firmly as we do.
Who we are
austin-tx.us is operated by EZOSHosting, 2215 Post Road #1112, Austin, TX 78704. Full entity details are on our Legal Notice page. For any privacy request or question, contact howdy@austin-tx.us.
Information we collect
When you submit the Claim/Founding form: the full name, email address, address of interest, and role (homeowner, landlord/STR host, local business, or realtor) you provide. We use this to verify your connection to the address and to send your founding invoice — see Claim Your Address for how that process works.
When you submit an address removal or correction request: the address you specify, any details you choose to add, and an email address only if you provide one for a confirmation reply. See Remove or Correct an Address.
When you browse the site: basic analytics collected through a self-hosted Matomo instance, configured without cookies and honoring Do Not Track signals. We use this only in aggregate, to understand which pages and tools are used, never to build an individual visitor profile or to track you across other websites.
Server logs: standard technical logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp, user agent) generated automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security and troubleshooting, retained for 30 days and then deleted or anonymized.
What we do not collect: we do not collect payment card details directly (invoicing/payment is handled through Stripe, our payment processor, once checkout launches; see Stripe's own privacy policy for their handling), we do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and we do not collect any personal information about property residents beyond what a verified owner voluntarily adds to their own claimed address page.
How we use information
To verify and process address claims and founding invoices; to respond to removal and correction requests within our stated 5-business-day commitment; to operate, secure, and improve the site; and to send you service-related communications about a claim or request you initiated. We do not use the information you submit for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers, people-search services, or advertisers. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the site (for example, hosting, email delivery, and — once selected — payment processing), each bound to use it only to provide that service, and where required by law (for example, in response to a valid legal process).
Your rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act
If the TDPSA applies to our processing of your information, you have the right to: confirm whether we process your personal information and access it; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; obtain a portable copy in a usable format; and opt out of the processing of personal information for targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or certain profiling — none of which we currently do. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address above; we will respond within the timeframe the TDPSA requires. You may appeal a denied request using the same contact channel. Until a formal legal review of TDPSA applicability to our specific entity is complete, we apply this policy in full to all Texas residents.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information described above, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) and access controls on our claim and removal databases. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or applicable law changes. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date above; continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
