Every construction permit the City of Austin issues — a new build, an addition, a re-roof, an electrical upgrade — becomes a public record: who filed, what kind of work, what it was permitted for, and where it stands today. That record lives in the City's permitting system, but it isn't organized by address in a way that's easy to browse. This tool pulls Austin's issued construction permit data and shows you the recent permit activity tied to one specific address, in plain language, with a direct link back to the City's own record for every entry.

We show what's on file: the type of work, a short description, the current status (issued, finaled, and so on), and the issue date, most recent first. We don't interpret what a permit means for a property's condition or value, and we don't editorialize about the work — we show the record and link to the source, so you can read the primary document yourself.

What counts as a "construction permit" here? Any permit tracked in the City's Issued Construction Permits dataset for a given address — this spans residential and commercial work, from a full new build down to smaller trade permits (electrical, plumbing, mechanical) when the City records them against the address.

Why don't I see older permits for my address? This page focuses on recent activity so it stays useful and current — older permits can still exist in the City's own system even if they've aged out of what we display here. Methodology

Sourced from the City of Austin's Issued Construction Permits dataset (3syk-w9eu, Development Services Department), which refreshes daily. We check the dataset's own last-updated timestamp before every rebuild rather than trusting a declared update schedule, because declared frequency and actual freshness aren't always the same thing — and we show you the retrieval date next to the results, not just next to a methodology footnote.
